Hey OurSong musicians!
You may have seen the licensing options and wondered what it means for your music.
At a high level, licensing is all about giving permission for others to use your music in various ways.
There are four main types of licensing options to consider when it comes to sharing your music with others. Let's break them down:
If your music is "remixable," you can choose -
1. Remix-Attribution-License:
Allows others to create and profit from derivative works of your music, with attribution and payment to you.
2. Remix-Attribution-Non Commercial License:
Allows others to create and share non-commercial derivative works of your music, with attribution to you.
If your music is "not remixable," you can choose -
1. Attribution License:
Lets someone use a work for personal use, but grants such Licensee a limited non-exclusive, transferable license and right to resell, with attribution to you. They must display the name of the creator on any copies, but they can't make any remixes.
2. Non-Commercial-Attribution License:
Lets someone use a work for personal, non-commercial use only. They must display the name of the creator on any copies, but they can't make any remixes.

Overall, there's no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to music licensing. It really depends on what you want to achieve with your music and how you want it to be used.
By understanding the different licensing options available to you, you'll be better equipped to make informed decisions about how to share your music with others.
